NWT has been awarded the "Class of Good" WasteWi$e Label in recognition of its commitment in environmental protection and waste reduction.   With the concerted effort of all staff members, NWT has successfully fulfilled the key requirements of the Award, including "Waste Avoidance and Reduction", "Collection and Recycling of Recyclable Materials" and "Buying or Manufacturing Recycled Products".  

From October 2008 to January 2009, NWT recorded 46% reduction in A4 paper consumption and 58% increase in waste paper collection.  Besides, there were also significant increase in the usage of recycled toner cartridges and recycling of both exhausted toner and ink cartridges.  

The WasteWi$e Label is one of the four environmental labels under the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), jointly presented by the Environmental Campaign Committee and the Environmental Protection Department. The label aims to encourage Hong Kong businesses / organizations to adopt measures in reducing the amount of waste generated.
