NWT's VPN solutions offer three Class-of-Services (CoS) to ensure differentiated Quality of Service (QoS) based on the unique needs of different network applications.

These service options include premium class (for Voice or Video over IP, time-sensitive data applications), enhanced class (for mission critical applications, such as ERP, CRM) and standard class (for throughput-oriented applications, such as file transfer and e-mail).

The NWT’s MPLS IP-VPN network infrastructure consists of Cisco and Juniper carrier-grade routers as network edge, district hub and AS border router. Customer Edge routers are the latest models of Cisco 871, 1811, 1841, 2811 and 3811. Besides supporting a range of CE routers, NWT also support VoIP modules, such as Cisco voice cards and various types of voice
gateways.

Customers' main-office LAN can connect with all the branch offices and business partners locally and globally to form a single Wide Area Network (WAN). All the connections can be meshed with high levels of security.

Data transfer and messaging can be performed seamlessly over the IP-VPN with the ease of a LAN network. Over the IP-VPN, you can set up multimedia applications to conduct conferencing, deliver voice and video presentation to local and overseas offices or customers. By setting up VoIP systems (e.g. voice gateway) in different locations, calls to overseas offices can be made by keying in extensions to your PABX system, which will result in big IDD savings.

By using MPLS, NWT’s IP Network can integrate all different traffic types into one single network design and allows a broad range of access methods and network topology. Since IP-VPN is a network-based solution, existing LAN’s IP addressing scheme can be retained without the need for modifications. With MPLS-based IP-VPN, customers, suppliers and remote users can be added to the network easily and swiftly. Thereby, it is a scalable and cost-effective way for network provisioning.
