IP Transit

  Introduction

IP Transit service is designed for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), carriers and large corporations, and provides an efficient access to the Internet through NWT’s high-speed broadband network and extensive local and international Internet peering. In addition, NWT’s broadband network interconnects with regional IX/NAPs and HKIX, and customers can access all global Internet routes through the minimum number of hops.

Customers have the option to subscribe the bandwidth based on the destination of their traffic, which enables them to enjoy cost and performance benefits by distributing IP traffic regionally and directly to overseas partners and end users. This will minimize network traffic congestion and shorter latency.

International IP Transit

NWT established overseas POP sites in the USA, mainland China and Taiwan to provide end-to-end managed connections. Through our International Private Leased Circuits (IPLC) and international submarine cable networks, NWT provides "One-hop" direct IP connectivity to the USA, China, Australia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Macau.

Bandwidth Provided

Bandwidth can be subscribed at N x 64Kbps to T1 & E1 from Frame Relay & DDS, 1-155Mbps through ATM and 2Mbps, 5Mbps, 10Mbps and up to 100Mbps at NWT's self-built areas. Moreover, our Internet Data Centre customers can also subscribe high-speed connection at 100Mbps.

Points of interconnect (PoI) can be defined at NWT's PoPs in Hong Kong, Taipei & Los Angeles.  Other PoIs within Asia can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
